Structure: Pegmatite Dikes

Tectonics: Sangre De Cristo Uplift

Deposit: Several pegmatites occur on the property, but only three have been worked extensively. The major pegmatites have little or no zoning but can have wide (1/4 inch to 3 inch) variations in grain size. Most of the mica is less than eight inches in diameter and mineral stained. The mica found on b.a.t. No. 5 is flat, hard, and mostly unstained. Accessory minerals are garnet, tourmaline, varying amounts of beryl, dendritic manganese, ilmenite and quartz. Discovery year: 1955-1956

Geology: The precambrian pegmatites have no formal name.

Ore(s): Pegmatite Dike
