Northwest Branch locality
Exposures along Lamberton Branch, a tributary of Northwest Branch near the town of Silver Spring. This small stream forms the boundary between the Kemp Mill and Springbrook forest subdivisions (Montgomery County, Maryland).
Take Lamberton Drive to the end, where it dead-ends into Northwest Branch Park. There is a clearly marked hiking trail (Bikes not allowed). Follow the trail downhill to the main trail. Take the main trail leading upstream. You will come to a small foot bridge. The stream under the bridge is the Lamberton Branch. The pegmatite occurs along the creek, on both sides, and along the west and east banks of Northwest Branch.
