The Homestake was one of the most developed mines along the east ridge of Butte. It consisted of an adit and a 550' deep shaft that cut the tunnel. The mine developed three veins, the widest of which was around 7' across. Tetrahedrite was relatively abundant in this mine, while other sulfides were more scarce. This high amount of tetrahedrite is somewhat unusual for Butte.
