An open cast mine worked principally on one E-W trending lode.
There is the ruined base of a chimney at SX6754 6987, that was demolished by the army and beside it the collar of a shaft. To the west there is a small stream with evidence of tinstreaming and on the far slope of the valley there are only shallow workings. To the east there is a substantial trench running up the side of Holne ridge. This ends abruptly. The moor is then dotted with costean pits until about 1/4 mile further along the strike of the lode another large trench is opened up.
To the south of this main lode there is another trench of similar width but this is only shallow.

Cassiterite occurs in 2 forms: the typical Dartmoor black distinct crystals, fracturing to brown/orange. However, there is also a very fine reddy form that occurs as bands intermixed with quartz.
Abandoned around 1900; Dines does not record any output figures.
