(Map- Google Maps incorrectly locates Peak Hill. The former town site is just south of the Jubilee Gold Mine)
The Jubilee area was first worked as small underground workings in the 1890's, with up to 30 g/t Au. In 1992, a small pit was excavated, hosting a reserve of 50 000 tonnes at 4 g/t Au. The pit is located about 2 kilometres north of the old Peak Hill townsite. In the pit, gold is hosted by the Hanging Wall Sequence, and concentrated in a complex quartz stockwork system, along the margins of a 250 metre thick metadolerite. Gold is found in both the hanging wall and foot wall sides of the metadolerite body. Schorl is mentioned are being present in the ore body, but its prevalence is not mentioned. Near the pit, the ore body strikes north, west dipping.
Production figures show 5942.97 tonnes of ore taken for 93.17 kg Au. Other mines mentioned appear to be historic from the 1890's. They are Julbilee North 13.5 tonnes at 6.445 kg Au, Bluebell 123.97 tonnes at 1.135 kg Au, Golden Treasure Extended 28.57 tonnes at 1.668 kg Au, Oxwell, Spencer and Coombes (prospectors) 859 tonnes at 0.316 kg Au, Perserverance 103.06 tonnes at 0.279 kg Au, and Reefers 210 tonnes at 5.2 kg Au.
