Former tin mine which was operated from 1952 to 1957; the yield was 4000 tons of cassiterite concentrate at 65-70%.
The open pit is now a lake (and a fishing pond). The slag heap is said to be the highest point above sea level (121 m) of the departement Loire-Atlantique. There are stairs to the top, where you have a beautiful panorama (with info pannels) of the site and the wider region.
Situation July 2022: the dumps and the mine site are no longer accessible (reason: arsen in the dumps and the risk of falling stones and slips).
There is a trail, leading from the parking lot before the Mairie (town hall) to the slag heap: there begin stairs to the top, and a trail around the site. (Erik Vercammen observations)
