The site is owned by the mining company Talapazo S. R. L., which exploits it for mica and gemological minerals. Holdings are made by rudimentary methods of pirquineo (to strike stone wall).
Registered according to file 554/110-LL-97 of the register of mines of the province of Tucumán.
This site, now abandoned, is the only area in which you can still find well-formed crystals of Beryl and aquamarines of quality jewellery, loose crystals of tourmaline (Schorl) and Garnet, above all in the loose slope of the landfill material.
Specimens of Mica, of good size and well-crystallized, predominantly and almost exclusively Biotite can be found even today.
