A former surface and underground Cu-Ag-Au mine located in the SEΒΌ sec. 33, T9S, R3E, about 2Β½ miles W of Kohatk, and about 9 miles SE of Little Table Top Mountain on Indian Reservation land. Adjoins the Reward Mine, which is to the NE. Produced during the period 1914-1917. Mr. Van H. Brooks and David W. Cummings operated both the Republic and Reward Mines in 1912 through 1916; the Gadsden Copper Co. also operated both mines in 1917.

Mineralization is in replacement deposit along fault and dike striking NE in an Escabrosa Limestone bed dipping 20W. The ore zone is 12.19 meters wide. Ore control was a NE-striking fault and dike with minor NW-striking faults, a NE-striking fault and E-W-striking faults. The beds strike NE and dip 20 to 35NW. Tenny dates the limestone as Pennsylvanian; while MF-931 dates it as Mississippian. Associated rock units include quartz monzonite and dacite.

Workings include a shaft 100 feet (30.48 meters) deep with a drift of 170 feet (51.82 meters) at the bottom.
