An iron mine in magnetite ore located on the NW slope of the knoll on the South side of the road between Port Murray and Karrville (about 1 mile West of Port Murray). Started 1871, closed 1873. Further explored in 1880. Workings featured 2 shafts (23 feet & 50 feet deep). Ore body was 9 feet (3 meters) wide.
